Job Description:

Position Overview

Waddington Europe is recruiting Operators for the Thermoforming Department at our Bridgwater site.

Shift Patterns

  • 3‑shift pattern: 6 am‑2 pm Monday‑Friday, 2 pm‑10 pm Monday‑Friday, 10 pm‑6 am Sunday‑Thursday (7.5 hours per day, full time)
  • 2‑shift pattern: 6 am‑2 pm Monday‑Friday, 2 pm‑10 pm Monday‑Friday (full time)

Responsibilities

  • Operate allocated machine, ensuring product quality meets required standards.
  • Load machine with appropriate material and maintain correct cycle speeds.
  • Carry out all manual and visual tests/checks as per procedures.
  • Label all goods leaving the department properly and attach required documentation.
  • Schedule break times in advance with the Shift Manager and provide flexible coverage.
  • Attend scheduled machine at start and end of shift.
  • Assist in training less‑experienced staff and provide guidance.
  • Undergo additional training to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Report defects or problems with equipment or premises to the Shift Manager, Production Manager or Maintenance personnel.
  • Wear correct PPE at all times.
  • Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards (e.g. BRC).
  • Report accidents or near‑miss incidents according to company procedure.
  • Avoid interfering with or damaging company property.
  • Cooperate with management to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Abide by company environmental and quality management procedures.
  • Perform reasonable duties requested by management, within your abilities.
