About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our fantastic team at our Hayes site. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Multi Skilled Operative will work on the day‑to‑day operations of mobile and fixed plant, along with various site duties. You will work with the team to deliver the site plan, ensuring that all stocks are maintained and replenished in good time, while keeping housekeeping standards across the site consistently high.
Responsibilities
- Operate both fixed and mobile plant on site
- Operate the weighbridge
- Work with other members of the team to ensure customers receive high‑quality material and on‑time deliveries
- Assist the Supervisor with achieving daily/weekly production targets
- Follow SHE policies and procedures
- Ensure all plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
- Uphold Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
- Carry out plant inspections, act on defects and implement remedial action
- Maximise plant availability
- Maintain high housekeeping standards around site
Flexibility and adaptability are essential, with overtime available to support the site’s production requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience driving and operating mobile plant – Loading Shovel, Telehandler, etc.
- Knowledge of aggregate operations
- Good timekeeping and flexibility to meet site operating requirements
- Strong communication skills – able to raise issues promptly with Line Management
- A full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Previous experience in a Wharf / Plant / Quarry / Heavy Manufacturing environment (beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided)
