We are recruiting for an experienced ESOL and Careers Coordinator to join our team. This role is dedicated to improving access to English language learning and career support for refugees and resettled individuals in Lancashire. It involves leading innovative ESOL and employability initiatives by recruiting, training, and supporting local volunteers to deliver community‑based classes and workshops. The post holder will design creative solutions to overcome barriers such as transport and isolation, conduct assessments, develop Personal Education and Employment Plans (PEEPs), and monitor learner progress using database systems. Building strong relationships with learners and local stakeholders is essential to promote integration and community cohesion. The role requires travel across Lancashire and a commitment to face‑to‑face engagement.
Responsibilities
- Delivering online ESOL classes for learners at all levels
- Delivering 1‑2‑1 and group employment support
- Supporting volunteers to deliver in‑person ESOL and conversational classes within the community
- Working with education institutions to help resettled families access formal ESOL classes
- Completing proficiency assessments for resettled families
- Reporting on ESOL progress for our families
- Promoting and supporting independence for resettled families in the UK
This role does require some travel, so it is essential that the successful applicant holds a full driving license and has access to a car. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, we will still consider your application.
