Residential Support Worker
Salary: £25,949 per annum plus an opportunity to earn an additional £4,200 per annum based on an average of 7 sleep‑ins per month.
Location: Wrexham.
Contract/Hours: Fixed Term for 18 months to cover maternity, Full‑time – 37 hours per week (on a rota basis, working days, evenings, overnights and weekends). If unable to commit to full 37 hours, part‑time hours of a minimum 18.5 per week could be considered as part of a job share.

A bit about the role
The Residential Support Worker is an entry‑level role where no previous experience or qualifications are required. We’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your ‘foot in the door’ and explore the field of Social Care to determine if it’s the right fit for you while gaining practical experience.
You’ll create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised through personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It’s key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

What you do could make a difference
You’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You’ll recognise responsibility for personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Ideally you’ll:
- Understand how to engage with young people.
- Have a positive approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.

- Be ready to complete a Level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
- Hold a full UK driving licence for the transport of service users to appointments and school runs.

About the Service
Tan y Dre Residential Services is a four‑bed therapeutic residential home providing medium to long‑term care for young people aged 9‑18 years old with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The aim of this role is to support them with their transition into safe and happy adults.
Our children receive a bespoke intervention tailored to their individual needs supported by a team of staff fully committed to understanding and meeting the child’s needs and reducing identified barriers.
Our therapeutic model provides an environment where they receive positive experiences of consistent parenting through providing specific and structured care, with clear and consistent boundaries.
Our aim is to provide opportunities and experiences that widen the individual’s sense of belonging through our individualized support.
