Apply today to work as a Technical Operator for our client, which manufactures and produces health and beauty products.
The rate of pay is from £15.26 per hour; overtime is available and is paid from £22.89 per hour.
This is a full-time role working 7 shifts over a 2-week period, every second weekend off.
Hours of work: 10pm to 10am.
Your Time at Work
- Provide a professional, high-quality service to Production following adequate training on specific equipment.
- Be responsible for the setting of production lines in accordance with product standards and specifications.
- Ensure that all operations on all equipment are performed to a professional, high quality standard.
- Liaise closely with Production Management to prioritise production planning and equipment availability.
- Be responsible for daily/hourly control and direction of a Production line team.
- Coach and support the production line team in the achievement of required target outputs.
- Inform and update Production Management with regards to line availability.
- Ensure major issues are elevated in line with the agreed process – Elevation Tree.
- Work closely as part of a team in conjunction with the Warehouse and Manufacturing departments.
- Report any immediate major Engineering issues to the Line engineering Team for resolution.
- Ensure that equipment is properly maintained. Identify faults and highlight to line engineers so that immediate corrective action can be taken.
- Report any major equipment failures to the Engineering Team Leader for resolution.
- Be responsible and accountable for completion of allocated production Work Orders and all other relevant documentation.
- Be responsible for and ensure that Product Quality meets relevant Standards, specifications and customer expectations.
- Ensure that documentation is accurately maintained and relevant information communicated as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work, and maintain that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and Standard Working Instructions (SWI’s) are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain high standards of GMP at all times in production and other accountable areas.
- Follow machine setting manuals and complete setup detail documentation.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties at the request of the Production Shift Manager.
- Be available for weekend and out of hours work if and when the business dictates.

Skills/Experience required
- Basic mechanical aptitude (essential).
- Experience working within a fast moving consumable goods (FMCG) environment (desired but not essential).
- Relative industry knowledge and experience (desired but not essential).
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to organise workload and work proactively on own initiative or as an interchangeable member of a small team.
- Ability to prioritise and multitask workload.
- Flexibility – ability to react and respond positively to changes in priority and workload.
- Ability to retain focus and maintain a calm demeanour under pressure.
- Accurate with good attention to detail.
- Good level of literacy and numeracy required.
- Ability to learn and implement Health and Safety measures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ability to use computerised information systems to input, retrieve and update all relevant data.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they are comfortable with computer systems; a basic understanding is essential. It is not considered relevant where that experience has been gained.
