Learning Support Assistant

Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Alnwick to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time position starting as soon as possible.

This is a varied and rewarding role within Key Stage 1, offering a great mix of responsibilities. You will be supporting pupils across the classroom, delivering targeted interventions and providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs (including SEN). The school is looking for someone adaptable, proactive and passionate about helping young learners thrive.

Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
• Deliver small group interventions to support literacy and numeracy
• Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils’ emotional and social development
• Help manage classroom behaviour in a positive and effective manner

What We’re Looking For

• Recent and relevant experience working with children (e.g. in schools, nurseries, childcare settings)
• A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to the needs of different learners
