Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 40 hours per week flexible hours between 07:00 and 18:00 – You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil role.
Job Role/Description
As an HGV/LCV Plant Workshop Technician you will be focused on keeping our fleet fully maintained, compliant and moving.
Working from our Central Plant workshop with occasional travel as required you will have excellent knowledge, great problem-solving skills and detailed approach to fixing vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
- To effectively produce high quality of work in an efficient and compliant manner
- Maintain fleet of HGV`s and LCV`s and trailers
- Achieve and maintain any required technical qualifications related to this role
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
- Carry out periodic safety inspections to all vehicles
- To complete accurate record systems to ensure that maintenance and service costs are captured against relevant vehicles
- Carry out defect rectification when reported
- Good communication with the Transport Office for scheduling workload
- To have a flexible and willing approach to undertake a range of tasks
- Performing MOT preparations and compliance checks
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety and DVSA regulations
Qualifications and experience
- Valid UK driving licence; an HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is highly desirable
- Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards
- Fully qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

- IT literacy – familiarity with diagnostic software and digital reporting tools
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work on your own initiative
- Must have good communication skills
