Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bolton
Shifts: Monday to Friday (Double Days Rotating)
6:00 am – 2:00 pm2:00 pm – 10:00 pm8 am – 4 pm4 pm – 12 pm
Salary: £48,000 + 6% Pension + Private Health Care

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of highly automated production lines. Working within a skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on automated machinery
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance and fault reporting records
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong fault‑finding skills (electrical and/or mechanical)
- Experience working with automated production lines
- Ability to work effectively within a shift‑based team
- Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) preferred
