Job Title: Residential Education Worker – Specialist Care & Education Service

Salary: £26,951 – £27,976 per year (Rising to £28,232 – £29,881 upon senior progression)

A leading specialist provider is looking for dedicated and compassionate Residential Education Workers to join their care and education team in Cranleigh, Surrey. This role offers a unique opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people with complex learning disabilities, social communication difficulties, and behavioural needs, including autism. No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training and mentoring are provided to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Support young people with daily routines, including shopping, budgeting, and life skills development
- Assist in meal planning and preparation, encouraging healthy eating habits
- Provide personal care following training to ensure residents’ comfort and dignity
- Accompany residents on on-site activities and off-site trips, such as visits to adventure parks, beaches, and activity centres
- Collaborate with teaching and therapeutic teams to monitor progress and behaviour
- Implement positive behaviour support techniques and manage challenging behaviour safely when necessary
Requirements
- High levels of empathy, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and school holidays
- Own transport is highly desirable due to the semi-rural location
- Right to work in the UK (please note, no visa sponsorship is available)
Training, Support, and Career Progression
- Fully funded, week-long induction including certified positive behaviour support training
- Clear career pathway: after two years, successful appraisal, and completion of a funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, progression to a Senior Residential Education Worker role with an increased salary of £28,232 – £29,881
