Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker at Merryden to join us on the weekends.

Overview

Merryden (part of National Care Group) supports individuals (18+) with complex and enduring mental health needs in South and West Wales. We have over 18 years of knowledge and expertise behind us and an excellent record of helping individuals move on to independent living.

Role Responsibilities

  • Work with young adults who have complex needs.
  • Build positive relationships by listening, discussing, and planning goals and ambitions together.
  • Plan and assist with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands.
  • Provide personal care, which may include support with eating and administering medication.
  • Help plan and participate in days out that the young adults wish to enjoy.
  • Make a positive impact by supporting individuals to become more independent wherever possible.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrate a caring attitude with a passion for supporting others and motivation to help them achieve goals.
  • Be a team player, able to work effectively with other colleagues.
  • Show resilience to keep going during difficult times and the confidence to ask for support if needed.
  • Exhibit excellent listening and communication skills.
