Machinery Maintenance Technician – Frome

Rotating 3‑Shift Pattern | 42 hours per week

Shift pattern (rotating):

• 6am–2pm (Tuesdays finish at 4pm)
• 2pm–10pm (Wednesdays start at 12pm)
• 10pm–6am (Sundays start at 8pm)

What You Will Do

• Support day‑to‑day maintenance across a busy machining and manufacturing environment
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out corrective, preventative, and improvement works
• Fault‑find and repair production and processing machinery
• Build and maintain asset care plans and TPM schedules
• Plan, log and document maintenance tasks using CMMS
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams
• Supervise external contractors when required
• Support planned maintenance during shutdown periods
• Maintain accurate equipment, spares, and asset documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

How You Will Do It

• Use a proactive, safety‑first approach to maintenance and fault resolution
• Apply strong electrical and/or mechanical diagnostic skills
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders across shifts and departments
• Follow site standards, procedures, and company values
• Take ownership of equipment performance and uptime

What We Are Looking For

• Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Completed apprenticeship with at least 3 years’ post‑qualification experience
• Background in machinery maintenance, repairs, and breakdown response
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics or PLCs (advantageous)
• Experience using CMMS systems
• IT‑literate with strong problem‑solving skills
• Able to work independently with a proactive, can‑do attitude
