Salary £13.45 per Hour. Casual hours per week. Adult Services Health & Wellbeing. Location: West Lancashire (Skelmersdale & Ormskirk).

International Sponsorship

This role is not open to international sponsorship.

Short Breaks

Offering individuals short breaks within a residential setting, ranging from one night up to two weeks. Staff will work a range of shifts over a 7‑day/24‑hour period supporting individuals within the accommodation with household tasks and personal care. Staff will also support people to enjoy leisure and social activities in the local community during their stay.

Summary

The Adult Services Health & Wellbeing Directorate’s Adult Disability Service provides a wide range of flexible support services across all the districts of Lancashire to adults who have disabilities. We are a well‑established provider with around 1,400 staff and support approximately 1,300 people. Our vision is to support adults with a disability to live the lives they want, through high‑quality personalised services that promote independence and opportunities for learning. Services include bespoke individual support at home, short breaks in modern accommodation, active day‑time pursuits, education and supported employment.

What you need to be able to offer or be willing to learn

Staff will work with individuals in a person‑centred approach and as part of a team. You must be able to communicate with people with disabilities, their families, other staff and professionals, and with local community members. The support worker role includes assisting individuals with all aspects of their personal plan, including personal care, health maintenance, participation in social and leisure activities, and overnight house‑keeping.

Legal Requirements

The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). Successful applicants will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a disclosure.
