Overview
Location – Cumbria. An exciting opportunity for 3 x experienced vehicle technicians to join the team at our Workington Facility (Cumbria). Shift allowance applicable (approximately 12.5% uplift on top of basic salary). Basic Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum (AFC Band 5).
The role of NWAS Vehicle Technician is to ensure all Trust vehicles (Petrol / Diesel / Hybrid and EV) are serviced, repaired and maintained to the Trust and DVSA’s exacting standards. The post incorporates the skilled service and repair of specialist ambulance equipment.
Operational requirements for the workshops cover 365 days per year via a rotating shift pattern, which attracts an additional salary uplift of approximately 12.5% on top of the basic salary banding.
Responsibilities
- Service, repair and maintain Trust vehicles (Petrol / Diesel / Hybrid and EV) to required standards.
- Carry out skilled service and repair of specialist ambulance equipment.
- Work in a modern workshop environment with opportunity for CPD and skill development.
- Contribute to maximizing vehicle throughput and minimizing workshop delays.
- Support a fleet of over 1,165 vehicles across the NWAS fleet (where applicable).
Qualifications
- Recognised apprenticeship (e.g., Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair) or equivalent experience, with NVQ or C&G Level 3 qualifications.
- Full UK driving license is essential; full category C1 entitlement is required.
