Facilities Operative – Sunderland

The Education Network is recruiting two reliable and hardworking Facilities Operatives to support the maintenance and upkeep of school premises across sites in Sunderland. This is a full‑time role, working 5 days per week, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.

The Role

• Support the day‑to‑day maintenance of school buildings and grounds.
• Carry out basic repairs, maintenance and site checks.
• Ensure school premises remain safe, clean and secure.
• Assist with health and safety procedures across sites.
• Travel between two sites in Newcastle and one site in Sunderland.

Requirements

• Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience preferred.
• Must have own vehicle and a full UK driving licence.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of general maintenance and site duties.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service is desirable, or willingness to obtain one.
