Pupil Support Assistant – Wellbeing Hub
Fixed term until 18/12/2026 at Broughton High School.
Salary: £26,806 – £27,032 per annum.
Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessionally.
Responsibilities
- Support young people transitioning from primary school, building social and communication skills and promoting positive destinations.
- Build relationships of trust with children and their families.
- Work within the Wellbeing Hub alongside the Curriculum Leader and a Pupil Support Officer to support children with social, emotional and behavioural needs to thrive in mainstream school.
- Act as part of enhanced staffing to support children with additional support needs.
- Ensure ongoing health, safety and welfare of pupils within the school environment.

- Experience working as part of a school team.
- Strong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate others.
- Commitment to championing the rights of all young people.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and wellbeing best practice within a school setting.
Legal and Safety Requirements
- Position is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- Required to join or update the PVG Scheme.
- If resident outside the UK for a continuous period of 3 months or more in the last 5 years, must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
- Employment contingent upon satisfactory pre‑employment checks.
