Pipework Fabricator – Keighley, West Yorkshire
We are looking for a skilled Pipework Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding a range of pipework assemblies to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Fabricating and welding mild steel pipework using detailed engineering drawings
- Producing small to large assemblies in line with bespoke welding procedures
- Checking components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
- Carrying out self‑inspection in line with inspection and test requirements
- Completing PUWER checks on plant and equipment
- Using MIG welding equipment, cutting tools, saws, drilling machines, and hand tools to achieve required tolerances and quality standards
- Identifying any issues or discrepancies and suggesting possible improvements or alternative manufacturing methods to the Workshop Manager
- Managing workload effectively and balancing multiple tasks when required
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a fabricator working with mild steel structural steelwork
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Experience with MAGS welding
- Experience working with stainless steel is advantageous but not essential
- Experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment
- Comfortable using MIG welding equipment and associated fabrication tools
- Experience handling, lifting, and moving materials safely
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices
Desirable Qualifications and Training
- City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Welding
- Abrasive Wheels certification
- Forklift truck or telehandler licence
