School Residential Support Worker

Overview

As a support worker at Witherslack Group you will work with children and young people who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will support their daily routine, learning, and well‑being to help them develop their abilities and raise their self‑esteem.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pupils are up and ready for school each day
  • Assist with homework and complete necessary paperwork
  • Plan and carry out educational and recreational activities
  • Support pupils in developing personal, social and emotional skills
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
  • Collaborate with psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals

Qualifications and Skills

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to study)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong empathy, honesty and resilience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player able to roll up sleeves and help others
