Services we deliver

  • Short Breaks – Offering individuals short breaks within a residential setting, ranging from one night up to two weeks. You would work a range of shifts over a 7 day/24 hour period supporting individuals within the accommodation with household tasks and personal care. You would also help people enjoy leisure and social activities in the local community during their stay.

Summary

The Adult Services Health & Wellbeing Directorate’s Adult Disability Service provides a wide range of flexible support services across all the districts of Lancashire to adults who have disabilities. We are a well established provider business with a workforce of around 1,400 staff and our vision is to support adults who have a disability to live the lives they want. We currently support around 1,300 people. We aim to achieve this by offering high quality, personalised services that promote independence and opportunities for people to develop and learn. The services range from bespoke individual support at home, through to short breaks in contemporary modern accommodation and active day time pursuits for social, leisure, centre based activities and education as well as supported employment opportunities.

Our services are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are an LCC Preferred Provider, so people accessing our service can expect a high level of quality. We invest in our workforce by offering induction and specialist training, alongside supervision and teamwork to enable staff to support individuals effectively.

What you need to offer or be willing to learn

You would be expected to work with individuals in a way that reflected a person centered approach and also have the ability to work as part of a team. You would need to communicate with a range of people including those with disabilities, their families, other staff and professionals and people in the local community. The role of a support worker includes supporting individuals with all aspects of their personal plan which can include personal care, maintaining health, enabling people to take part in a wide range of social and leisure activities in the local community and supporting people to live in their own homes, including overnight support.
