Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially aware Assistant Merchandiser to support the merchandising function across retail and ecommerce channels. This role will be responsible for trading analysis, stock management, website merchandising, product launch support, and cross-functional coordination to help maximise product performance and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with merchandising data, and a passion for fashion and retail trading
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update weekly trading reports including overall business WSSI, NOOS linecards, Retailer reporting, and Store WSSI.
- Analyse weekly sales and stock performance, providing store performance updates to the wider team.
- Prepare weekly trade packs including sales analysis, imagery, and key trading insights.
- Produce monthly overstock and slow-seller reports to support commercial trading decisions.
- Review weekly product performance and identify products requiring replenishment, including ratio sizing adjustments.
- Conduct historical sales analysis to support future collection planning and evaluate sale period performance.
Stock and Allocation Management
- Act as the first point of contact for stores regarding stock queries, replenishment, and allocations.
- Manage weekly store replenishment and monthly allocation of new collections based on store requests, feedback, and trading performance.
- Prepare and manage monthly recall lists for store stock, coordinating with the warehouse to adjust stock levels.
- Load weekly store orders into PVX for warehouse processing and resolve purchase order issues as required.
- Manage website merchandising activities including:
- Reviewing products that require activation or drafting on a weekly basis.
- Merchandising collections ahead of launches.
- Ensuring products are correctly categorised online.
- Managing visibility of back-in-stock products.
- Review low-performing products weekly and work with management to optimise site merchandising following trade meetings.
Product Launch Support
- Support new product launches by reviewing imagery and product copy to ensure accurate product setup.
- Complete launch checks using internal product launch documentation and processes.
- Work closely with the Visual Merchandising team to prepare store merchandising documentation, including stock and delivery information.
- Visit stores monthly to support visual merchandising execution where required.
- Support marketing teams and content creators by updating collections, prioritising reshoots, and adding products for campaigns.
- Respond to ad hoc stock-related queries from internal teams.
- Assist creative teams with styling and merchandising-related projects.
- Conduct competitor analysis across relevant categories and products as required.
- Prepare and maintain seasonal carryover sheets for the design team.
- Assist with returns analysis and provide ad hoc merchandising and operational support.
Qualifications
- You have strong technical skills with Excel (or Sheets), able to navigate formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.
- You have 3 years or more experience in a similar field of retail, developed post-grad.
