We’re looking for a proactive and well‑organised Relocation Coordinator to join our Human Resources Division and play a central role in supporting and delivering the University’s relocation service.

About the role

As part of the Resourcing Team, you will be the first point of contact for new staff relocating to Cambridge, whether from the UK and overseas. You’ll guide individuals and families through the practicalities of moving, from understanding local housing options to navigating schools, healthcare, banking and other essential services. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving the University’s relocation guidance, website content and processes. Your insight will help shape how we support new colleagues and ensure our relocation service remains efficient, inclusive and aligned with wider recruitment priorities. This is a varied, people focused role where your work will directly support the University’s ability to attract and retain world leading talent.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the delivery of the relocation service acting as the first point of contact for new starters and ensuring consistent, high‑quality support.
  • Maintaining and developing relocation guidance including short guides, updating web content and producing materials such as leaflets and posters.
  • Coordinating relocation services across the University, including housing, local services and onboarding support.
  • Providing expert relocation advice, including on complex and senior appointments.
  • Managing relocation expenses by reviewing eligibility, processing claims and liaising with Finance colleagues.
  • Using data and insight to monitor relocation activity and support service improvements.
  • Build relationships with HR, Estates and Finance teams across the University.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Estates, Finance, HR and external partners to enhance the University’s relocation service.

We’re looking for someone who has/is

  • Strong understanding of domestic and international relocation, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organised approach, able to balance day to day delivery with long term planning.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and online systems (including Excel).
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge area including schools, housing and local amenities.
