Team Leader / Material Handler

Overview

Job Summary: This role combines team leadership with materials handling in a fast-paced food production environment. The Team Leader will coordinate daily materials handling operations, ensure the timely supply of raw materials and packaging to production, and maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and food hygiene. A current forklift licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team.
• Operate forklifts to receive, move, and store raw materials and packaging.
• Schedule and allocate tasks to meet production needs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and follow procedures.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
• Train team members in safe handling, storage, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in materials handling and team leadership.
• Knowledge of food safety.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.

Shifts

Rotating shift pattern which includes Dayshift, Lates, and Nightshift.

Hourly rates

£14.35 – £17.55 depending on shift pattern worked.
