Unqualified Learning Support Assistant

Location: Caerphilly, South Wales

Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm | Term‑Time Only

Start Date: 7th September 2025 – July 2026

Pay: £500 per week via PAYEE with weekly pay

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to work as Unqualified Learning Support Assistants in secondary schools across Caerphilly. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, career changers, youth workers, care workers, or anyone eager to gain hands‑on experience in a school setting.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–18, particularly those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviour. Whether you’re considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or special educational needs, this role provides the perfect foundation.

Qualifications & Traits

  • Passionate about working with young people
  • Caring, patient, and proactive
  • Strong communicators with good interpersonal skills
  • Interested in education, youth work, or learning support
  • Willing to complete required training modules
  • Able to commute to schools in the Caerphilly area
  • Willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS and register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – full support provided
  • Able to provide two professional references
