We are looking for a reliable and self‑motivated Food Service Assistant/Cook to join our team on a 20‑hour contract. The role is split across 2 tea shifts and 2 night shifts per week and is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently in a fast‑paced catering environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and finish food produced by the daytime kitchen team.
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head/sous chef, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and correct temperatures for hot foods.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas, including food prep stations, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with reordering.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety, and open/close the service area independently.
- Assist with team collaboration and support colleagues as necessary.
Shift Pattern
- 20 hours per week.
- 2 tea shifts and 2 night shifts.
- Flexibility may be required to support business needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commis chef or a demonstrated passion for food.
- Knowledge of commonly used cooking techniques and cuisine types.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
