Job Overview
Location: AASC – Chester, Ellesmere & Wirral
Type: Full time – 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £27,500 – £33,500 depending on experience & skills, plus Serco benefits.
Full UK driving licence must be held. Vehicle and tools provided.
Responsibilities
Assist with temporary accommodation for asylum seekers, ensuring all maintenance tasks—reactive, proactive, or pre-planned—meet required standards and SLA deadlines.
Manage own workflow and coordinate with team as required.
Ensure health & safety compliance during and after works. Purchase and manage materials using the company account card from approved suppliers. Inspect vehicles regularly and maintain a professional and clean condition.
Requirements
- Previous maintenance experience in joinery, fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating or a related field.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK.
- Subject to security clearance checks and Home Office approval.
Flexible Working Pattern
- Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet operational needs.
On‑Call Requirements & Out Of Hours Working
- On‑call duty once every 8‑10 weeks for emergencies, maintaining 24/7 coverage.
