Facilities Operative – Domestic, North Resource Centre
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Operative working within Domestic Services. This post will be based at North Resource Centre.
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual who is committed to enhancing the patient & customer experience, therefore you must have a passion for providing a high level of customer service.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
The post-holder will undertake a range of specific work functions across the Facilities service.
The hours are 16 per week to be worked as follows over a 2 week rota:
Week 1
Monday 14.00-19.00, Tuesday 7.30-13.30 and Friday 14.00-19.00
Week 2
Monday 14.00-19.00, Tuesday 7.30-13.30 and Friday 7.30-12.30
Main duties of the job
The duties within each function will be set out in the relevant job schedules. The assignment of these duties will meet the priority needs and demands of the service as identified by the manager/supervisor. The post-holder will therefore be expected to take a flexible approach to their duties, and must also be able to cover rosters.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
- Knowledge gained on corporate and local facilities induction and completion of internal training programme over a 12 week period (1 week departmental training with further 2 weeks on the job training).
- Working knowledge of procedures and equipment relevant to post.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations Health & Safety Policies and work procedures.
- Knowledge of Infection Control Policy, Guidelines and Procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO 9002 regards recording data.
- Basic Food Hygiene Training.
- Knowledge and compliance with Mandatory Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers – NHS Circular CEL 23 (2010).
Experience
- Previous experience in similar role.
Skills and Attributes
- Good Customer Care Skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised alone or as part of a team.
- Basic IT skills.
- Moving and handling skills.
- Operation of mechanical and electrical machinery safely and effectively.
- Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
