Overview

Title: Children’s Support Worker

Pay: £13.68 – £28.40 inclusive of holiday pay.

Location: Cathays

Shift times: 08:00–20:00 or 13:00–21:00 or 07:00–16:30.

Driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in day‑to‑day activities and interests.
• Be restrain trained or undergo the 3‑day restraint training course.
• Promote independence and wellbeing of young people.
• Attend weekend and evening activities, including trips away, climbing, baking, visiting Butlins, etc.
• Protect children from health and welfare risks.
• Provide emotional and practical support within your home.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of care plans and guidelines for safety.
• Minimise incidents involving challenging behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience

• Desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children.
• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months experience working with children or in a similar social care setting.
• TMVA restraint training certificate.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Current enhanced DBS, or willing to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
