Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to work within our SEN unit, supporting young children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

• Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Manage and respond to challenging behaviour effectively.
• Assist with learning across individual, small group and whole class settings.
• Monitor and support pupils with SEMH and additional special educational needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour using consistent reinforcement strategies.
• Provide academic, social and emotional support to pupils.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• A holistic approach to supporting children’s development.
• Calm, empathetic and able to set clear boundaries.
• Reliable, trustworthy and committed.
• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
