Job Description:

Purpose

The role involves delivering high‑quality support and care to residents, enhancing their independence, choice, inclusion and control in line with CQC regulations.

Location

Base: Ashfield House, Stourbridge. Full UK driving licence required; vehicle provided for transport of people supported.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide support and care to foster the wellbeing and development of residents according to their person‑centred plans; record and review progress.
  • Support residents in maintaining a clean, tidy and welcoming living environment.
  • Assist with laundry, shopping and meal preparation, respecting residents’ choices.
  • Help residents arrange and attend medical appointments.
  • Assist residents with budgeting, finances and accessing benefits.
  • Encourage residents to maintain an active social life.
  • Provide personal care where appropriate (bathing, hair washing, etc.) when registration permits.
  • Ensure residents receive housing‑related support, including tenancy maintenance and reporting safety concerns.
  • Fulfil other tasks assigned by the Team Leader to maintain high quality of service and support the community’s vision.
  • Work within community policies, procedures, code of conduct and promote equality, diversity and human rights.
  • Participate in training, continuous professional development and personal development to understand the philosophy and values that guide practice.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a care or support setting, preferably with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Experience in anthroposophical organisations providing social care desirable.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment, health and safety, support plans, safeguarding, person‑centred planning, equalities, and human rights.
  • Supportive of the organisation’s values and philosophy.
  • Valid manual UK driving licence (minimum 2 years) essential.
  • Reasonable general education, evidence of numeracy and literacy.
  • Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care Diploma or equivalent highly desirable.
