Job overview
The Clerk Typist will be based at either the West Cumberland Hospital or Parkhouse South, Carlisle, providing typing support for all clinical staff.
Main duties of the job
Your role often places you as the first point of contact for patients, so a professional, patient‑focused approach is essential.
You will provide high‑standard administrative support to the clinical team and liaise with other departments, patients, NHS Trusts, and external agencies.
Requirements include a GCSE (minimum C) score, RSA level 2 or NVQ level 2 in Administration, and relevant typing experience, preferably with an administration background.
Applicants should be pleasant, adaptable, calm under pressure, and capable of managing a busy workload efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a positive team‑working attitude are required.
