Hotel Service Assistant Domestic

The Hotel Service Assistant Domestic will be responsible for general domestic cleaning and assisted catering duties in accordance with contract standards, under the direction of the Domestic Cleaning Manager and Soft Services Manager. The role includes relief cover for site staff.

Responsibilities

  • Safety, Health, and Environment: work in a safe and healthy manner; meet statutory requirements; wear supplied PPE; maintain and store cleaning materials and equipment safely; report defects and hazards promptly; display appropriate signage.
  • Operational: use appropriate equipment and colour‑coding policy; conduct regular inspections of departmental equipment; perform cleaning duties such as washing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, emptying litter bins, removing waste, polishing, dusting of designated areas (including toilet and fixtures); support meal service in patient areas from the ward kitchen; undertake any other necessary duties.
  • Financial: use equipment, supplies and materials efficiently.
  • Commercial: promote the company name in all working practices.
  • Decision Making Authority: handle health and safety issues, safe work methodology and risk assessment/COSHH.
  • Report Preparation: complete job task schedules and sign where required.
  • Interaction With Others: engage with Bellrock on‑site management and staff, other company personnel, NHS clients (including contact with patients and children when required), suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Previous experience in a similar role benefits the candidate.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Flexible, positive approach to team working.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Proficiency with manual and powered cleaning machinery and safe operation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation is beneficial.
  • Awareness of personal safety and potential assault by patients/clients.

Working Arrangements

Employee required to work from Dundee, with two days onsite each week and the remainder of the week from home.
