Production Operative

Production Operative – Arla Foods, Lockerbie Dairy

£36.6k per annum (starting salary). Join our expanding Block‑former department at our Lockerbie site, a full‑time, permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including pension, on‑site parking, canteen, discounted staff shop items, and an annual pay review.

Responsibilities

• Run production and packing lines using production IT systems.
• Sample and test finished product, using results to optimise processes.
• Monitor equipment performance and raise issues before they become problems.
• Maintain high standards of quality, health and safety, and comply with Arla and customer procedures.
• Perform quality checks on finished product, manage paperwork, and maintain production reporting systems.

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate

• Experience with process control systems, mechanical aptitude, and basic computer skills.
• Motivated team player who can work independently and under pressure.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene; training will be provided.
• Flexible attitude to working hours, including weekends, shift work on a rota basis and holiday cover.
