About the role

Support Worker at Tennyson Lodge day service. Provide person‑centred support to adults with learning disabilities, helping them achieve independence and confidence. Work Monday‑Friday with rotating hours (8:50‑5:10 Monday, 8:50‑4:00 Tuesday‑Friday). 22.7 hours per week on rota.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with service users.
  • Deliver and support engaging activities inside the centre and in the community, promoting life skills, wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • Encourage independence by supporting everyday skills and choices.
  • Provide personal care and medication support when required.
  • Collaborate with team to contribute to support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
  • Use IT systems to maintain accurate records and ensure high‑quality care delivery.
  • Promote dignity, respect and equality in all interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Commitment to further training.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities or similar populations (preferred).
  • Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Confidence using IT systems for recording and communication.
