Children’s Support Worker – Location: Hailsham & Bexhill roles available
- Salary: Children’s Support Worker: £13.00 per hour, Qualified Support Worker (NVQ Level 3 CYP): £14.00 per hour
- Additional earning opportunities: Sleep-In Shifts £80 per shift (agreed at interview)
- On-Call Allowance: £40 per shift (typically 2 per month)
- Overtime: 1.25x standard hourly rate
- Total earning potential: unqualified up to £36,320 per year; qualified up to £38,400

The Opportunity
Empowering Young Lives. We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Children’s Support Worker to join a supportive residential service. In this rewarding role, you will actively contribute to cultivating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where young people experience emotional security, happiness, and personal growth. You will act as a role model, establishing respectful relationships with the children in our care and guiding them through their personal and social development.
Responsibilities
- Support & Guidance: Build constructive, respectful relationships with young people, reinforcing positive social behaviours and offering guidance on personal development.
- Activities & Enrichment: Plan and engage young people in recreational and socially enriching leisure activities both inside and outside the home.
- Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings, participate in training, and assist with the orientation and initial support of new team members.
- Operational Leadership: Step up to cover the responsibilities of the Senior Care Mentor when they are unavailable, ensuring the smooth running of the shift.
- Assessment & Documentation: Utilise internal tracking tools to maintain accurate, professional casework records, create social/emotional reports, and contribute to Annual Multi-disciplinary Reviews.
- Logistics & Safety: Provide safe transportation for young people to school, appointments, and social activities. Maintain clean, orderly, and hygienic living spaces.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: A Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent) is highly desirable. Candidates without this qualification must demonstrate a commitment to working towards it.
- Skills: Excellent communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is mandatory.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible rota, including a share of weekend shifts, sleep-ins, and on-call duties as required.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required to transport young people safely.
