About the role

I am seeking a Personal Assistant to take my 5‑year‑old daughter out for activities such as walks, drives, visits to the beach and park, and swimming. The assistant will drive with the child, so a full driving licence and access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover are essential. The child has a learning disability, is non‑verbal, and requires supervision at all times to keep her safe.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support in relation to existing favoured activities, including walks, park and beach visits, and swimming.
  • Support the child by taking her for drives in the car, to assist with episodes of emotional dysregulation.
  • Provide one‑to‑one care and attention at all times to keep the child safe.
  • Always carry a mobile phone that is kept charged for use in an emergency.
  • Use patience and excellent observation and interpersonal skills to meet the child’s needs.
  • Perform any other duties that fall within the scope of the role, pending discussion and mutual agreement.
  • Willing to undertake further training if required.

  • Can work flexibly, adapting to variable requirements of the role.

  • Valid DBS check.
  • Two references.
  • Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
