We are seeking to appoint LSAs to join a high achieving, hardworking department in an outstanding school. The department is expanding due to a rising number of students joining our school with EHCPs. Our LSAs work with students aged 11-19, across the curriculum and in all areas of need as identified within the SEND Code of Practice.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff;
- Work with students away from the mainstream classroom at certain times;
- Contribute to planning for individuals and groups;
- Monitor work, feedback to the teacher and contribute to record‑keeping;
- Support students to understand instructions and support independent learning and inclusion;
- Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping students on task;
- Support students’ social and emotional development;
- Support the organisation of the learning environment including producing, maintaining and storing resources and contribute to maintaining a safe environment;
- To be able to scribe in exams and be fluent in literacy;
- Contribute to annual review feedback and update LSPs;
- Lead and help with planning on interventions supported by SALT/EP/Pheonix;
- Have experience in dealing with medical needs and undergo First Aid Training.
