Job overview

An excellent opportunity for a full‑time Band 6 CPN to join the Locality Mental Health Team supporting the North area of Lincoln. We seek a highly motivated RMN who is keen to work within a recovery‑focused service for patients experiencing severe and enduring mental ill‑health.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high‑quality person‑centred care to patients, families and carers.
  • Act as Lead Healthcare Professional, undertaking comprehensive evidence‑based assessments and applying psycho‑social interventions to support recovery goals.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for service development, excellent communication and leadership skills within a complex, changing service.
  • Maintain a flexible, ‘can‑do’ approach, working under pressure and adapting to change at short notice.
  • Participate in robust clinical and managerial supervision and pursue ongoing professional development to remain current with evidence‑based practice.
  • Travel independently within the community to deliver services, using a hybrid approach to working.

Person specification

Experience

  • Relevant experience working with adults with mental health needs or evidence of substantial experience with individuals in crisis and transferable skills to community and inpatient settings.
  • Experience working with people with severe and enduring mental illnesses.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Skills and Competences

  • Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of information governance principles.
  • Delegation while maintaining overall responsibility for patients’ care.
  • Ability to lead a clinical team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Highly developed clinical reasoning skills.
  • High motivation and ability to engage with service users and carers to improve outcomes.
  • Highly developed communication skills.

Qualifications

  • RMN, RNLD, or RN: 1st Level Registration (NMC) or equivalent degree.
  • Currently registered nurse.
  • ENB998 / FliPS or equivalent.
  • Evidence of specialised continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.
  • Management training.

  • Ability to travel independently across the county.
