Milk Education are seeking a skilled, reflective, and resilient Religious Education Teacher to join a forward‑thinking department in a Secondary school in South Yorkshire. The role will involve teaching KS3 and KS4 RE, delivering engaging lessons that explore world religions, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary moral issues. This is a full‑time position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Develop students’ understanding of world religions, beliefs, ethics, and philosophical thinking
• Encourage respectful discussion, critical thinking, and independent reflection
• Use assessment data to track progress and adapt teaching to meet learner needs
• Promote tolerance, cultural awareness, and mutual respect within the classroom
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes
• Uphold the values and standards of Milk Education and our partner schools

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialism in Religious Education – able to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
• Strong classroom management skills
• Good subject knowledge of major world religions and ethical/philosophical concepts
• Ability to facilitate balanced, respectful classroom discussion on sensitive topics
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education)
