Location: Bristol, Westbury-on-Trym. Contract: Casual. Salary: £13.50 per hour. Hours: per week.
An independent, boarding and day school for girls aged 4 to 18 years situated in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol and catering to around 750 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Supper with high‑end hospitality. You are invited to join as a Casual General Assistant at one of our locations.
You will ideally have previous experience working within a fast‑paced catering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks and cleaning.
- Help in the pot‑wash area when needed.
- Prepare all service areas for the day’s business related to each meal service.
- Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
- Prepare basic food for sale or service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the specified standard.
- Restock and replenish consumables during service periods, pre‑empting customer needs to achieve optimum service delivery.
- Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle correctly.
- Be prepared to work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events as required.
- Ensure company food standards are adhered to and wastage is controlled.
- Follow all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures.

- Food hygiene certificate preferred.
- Adaptable, flexible and reliable with an open, attentive approach to customer service.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
- Ability to manage moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.
Knowledge / Competencies
- Hold a Level 2 food hygiene qualification.
- Good verbal, written and reading English.
- Similar experience in a customer or food preparation environment preferred.
