Location: Bristol, Westbury-on-Trym. Contract: Casual. Salary: £13.50 per hour. Hours: per week.

An independent, boarding and day school for girls aged 4 to 18 years situated in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol and catering to around 750 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Supper with high‑end hospitality. You are invited to join as a Casual General Assistant at one of our locations.

You will ideally have previous experience working within a fast‑paced catering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks and cleaning.
  • Help in the pot‑wash area when needed.
  • Prepare all service areas for the day’s business related to each meal service.
  • Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
  • Prepare basic food for sale or service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the specified standard.
  • Restock and replenish consumables during service periods, pre‑empting customer needs to achieve optimum service delivery.
  • Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle correctly.
  • Be prepared to work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events as required.
  • Ensure company food standards are adhered to and wastage is controlled.
  • Follow all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures.

You Will Have The Following Skills

  • Team‑working, listening and independent initiative.
  • Impeccable personal presentation, hygiene and behaviour towards others.
  • Food hygiene certificate preferred.
  • Adaptable, flexible and reliable with an open, attentive approach to customer service.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
  • Ability to manage moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.

Knowledge / Competencies

  • Hold a Level 2 food hygiene qualification.
  • Good verbal, written and reading English.
  • Similar experience in a customer or food preparation environment preferred.
