Youth Assistant Support Worker – Temp to perm contract – 2 x 24 hour shifts each week

Role Overview

Support Assistant – Temporary to Permanent (12 weeks temporary work which can lead to a permanent position after 12 weeks).

The service provides more than just accommodation; it offers a safe, inclusive home and holistic support to help young people achieve their potential and transition into independent living and engagement in employment or education.

Temporary to Permanent, Full Time, 2 × 24 hour shifts each week

Key Duties

• Offer day‑to‑day emotional and practical support.
• Motivate and empower young people to gain independence.
• Provide support and advice in line with support plans and keyworker requests.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Relationship building – ability to engage and build strong relationships with young people.
• Understanding trauma – knowledge of the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse and trauma.
• Crisis response – forward‑thinking attitude to crisis situations.
• Emotional resilience – remain calm and collected in challenging and traumatic situations.
• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months experience working with children or in a similar social‑care setting.
• TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
