CAD Technician (Joinery) – Mansfield – £30,000 – £40,000 DOE

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to support the delivery of high-quality bespoke joinery projects. This role is integral to translating design concepts into accurate, production-ready technical drawings, ensuring seamless coordination between design, project management, and manufacturing teams.

CAD Technician Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects
• Develop 3D models and visualisations using Inventor or SolidWorks (desirable)
• Interpret design briefs and architectural drawings to create accurate manufacturing information
• Collaborate closely with designers and project managers to ensure design intent is maintained and buildable
• Prepare clear, structured, and precise drawing packages for client approval and workshop production
• Revise and update drawings in line with project changes and feedback
• Ensure all drawings meet company standards, technical requirements, and manufacturing constraints
• Liaise with workshop teams to resolve technical queries and improve build efficiency

CAD Technician Essential Requirements

• Proven background in joinery manufacturing or bespoke woodworking
• Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and production processes within joinery
• High level of proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting essential)
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, error-free work
• Strong computer literacy and confidence working with technical software
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and design drawings
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Desirable Skills

• Experience with 3D CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks
• Previous experience in high-end residential or commercial fit-out projects
• Understanding of CNC processes and production workflows
• Ability to contribute to design development and problem-solving
