Job Title: LGV Driver – Category C (Fuel / Stores Driver)
Location: Leeds (commutable from Bradford, Huddersfield and surrounding areas)Salary: Competitive pay + enhanced rates for nights & weekendsSummary: We’re looking for a LGV Driver (Category C) to join our friendly Tarmac Pave team based in Leeds with a varying work pattern including overnight and weekend work. Excellent remuneration and benefits are provided. This role is easily commutable from Bradford, Huddersfield and the surrounding areas. What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring that the lorry and ancillaries are checked regularly and that any defects are noted and reported to the Fitter and office
- Ensuring all mobile plant on various sites is refuelled and ready for work
- Liaising with the Plant Coordinator to maintain stock levels of fuel, equipment and materials to ensure timely availability
- Ensuring journeys are undertaken safely and legally and that loads are checked and secured
- Planning journeys so mobile plant equipment is refuelled and materials arrive on site for the specified shift start time
- Liaising with the Plant Coordinator and Gang Foreman to work together as a team
- Working safely and in conjunction with current Driving Regulations
- Complying with company standards and procedures – engaging with the Transport Manager to check details, provide feedback and help with any driving issues
What we’re looking for
- LGV (HGV) Class 2 licence
- A valid Digital Tacho Card
- A valid CPC Qualification Card
- Previous experience of refuelling mobile plant would be advantageous, but not essential
- Experience gained within similar role/heavy industry
- Knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures
- A positive attitude to work, with flexibility and adaptability
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as part of the wider team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- ADR – Carriage of Dangerous Goods certification
