Key Responsibilities
- Support students with personal care and daily needs
- Assist in managing behavioural challenges with patience and understanding
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to implement behaviour management strategies
- Provide targeted support to pupils in both primary and secondary settings
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support the development of individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage and nurture students’ social and emotional development
Requirements
- Keen interest in working with children and young people
- Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children or in the care/education sector
- Experience in a PMLD or similar environment is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development
- Proactive work ethic and a good understanding of special educational needs
- Patient, caring, and understanding attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
