Overview
Priory School, Lewes, East Sussex, seeks 6 Teaching Assistants (fixed term, from September 2026) to work in the main school site. The post involves providing dedicated support to individuals and groups of students, with experience in working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). An interest in supporting students with Maths would be an advantage but is not essential.
Priory School has a history of academic excellence and strong pastoral care. The school is well regarded and consistently oversubscribed. Applicants should note that the school does not accept CVs.
Hours, pattern and term
Hours of work: 30 hours per week. Working pattern: Part-time, term-time only, 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, increasing after 5 years of continuous service. The salary is pro rata for part-time/term-time work. This is a fixed-term appointment for 11 months.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:15pm during term time (plus inset days).
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated support to individuals and groups of students with SEN.
- Assist students with Dyslexia and/or Speech and Language difficulties as appropriate.
- Support learning in Maths where possible; this is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of working with students with SEN, Dyslexia and Speech and Language difficulties preferred.
- Ability to contribute to a supportive classroom environment and assist with targeted interventions.
