NextGen Teachers are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist provision in Leeds to recruit an experienced and dedicated SEMH Teacher for a September 2026 start.

The successful candidate will be teaching predominantly KS4 pupils and should be confident delivering creative, engaging lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development. Creative subjects and therapeutic approaches play an important role within the provision, helping pupils with self-expression, confidence and emotional regulation.
Candidates applying must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have at least 2 years’ teaching experience within a specialist setting or alternative provision.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum
- Support pupils with SEMH needs using consistent and positive approaches
- Build strong relationships that encourage engagement and trust
- Promote emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience within the classroom
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Monitor pupil progress and celebrate individual achievements
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders and external professionals
- Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils
- Previous experience working within SEMH, specialist or alternative provision settings
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A creative, adaptable and patient approach to teaching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils to succeed
