Teaching Assistant (Special School) Level 2 Grade 4

1 Permanent Full Time Position 32.5 hours/week – job reference: PERMTA4- MAY 26

Salary Range: £25,989 to £26,403 per annum starting at £25,989

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, professional and motivated teaching assistant who is dedicated to the ongoing academic, behavioural and personal development of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs to work as class TA and provide occasional cover for the Teacher. Candidates need to be physically and emotionally resilient, experienced in behaviour management and able to inspire and engage young people in KS2 and KS3.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies, resources etc. Implementing agreed learning activities/teaching programmes under direction of class teacher
  • Working with other staff in planning, evaluating and adjusting learning activities as appropriate.
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.
  • Under direction of class teacher, providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required, to other staff on pupils’ achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
  • Being responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with class teacher, contributing to reviews of systems/records as requested.
  • Working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a good knowledge of SEND and safeguarding legislation.
