Responsibilities
- Provide a delivery and collection service within Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT and all associated sites.
- Assist customers as and when required.
- Follow policies for own role, supporting the implementation of departmental procedures.
- Observe a personal duty of care for equipment and resources used, such as trolleys, cages and vehicles.
- Demonstrate own activities to new or less experienced employees.
- Keep documented reports for each journey (vehicle log sheets, mileage) to comply with Transport Regulations.
- Keep accurate personal records (timesheets).
- Manage workload to maximise efficiency of deliveries and collections.
- Problem‑solve on‑site customer enquiries.
- Achieve and maintain the standard of service as agreed, keeping within timed schedules and working unsupervised.
- Plan own day‑to‑day work tasks.
- Supply delivery and collection service as laid down by current schedules.
- Deliveries and collections will include casenotes and internal post as per scheduled or non‑scheduled journeys.
- Check the vehicle each day (fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights) and keep documented records such as defect reports.
- Take vehicle to hirer for repairs, servicing and MOTs.
- Keep the vehicle clean inside and out to prevent dirt and cross‑contamination.
- Be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of goods, observing Health and Safety guidelines to prevent injury.
- Move casenotes between sites as necessary, ensuring customer daily requirements are met.
- Maintain patient safety through rigorous compliance with Trust Policies, including infection prevention and control, and undertake mandatory training and updates.
- Communicate with other staff at various levels within the Trust.
- Establish good working relationships with all customers to maintain the agreed level of service.
- Plan and prioritise day‑to‑day work load appropriately.
- Keep all relevant parties informed of any changes that may occur outside the agreed schedule.
