Job Title: Swimming Teacher (Level 2)
Hourly Rate: £18.58 + 14% holiday pay per hour (£21.18 per hour)

We’re looking for a passionate and positive Swimming Teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons in our busy and welcoming Swim School. We currently have Monday and Thursday shifts available from 3.35pm‑6.05pm, with opportunities to cover and pick up additional daytime, evening and weekend classes. If you’re enthusiastic about helping children build confidence and learn essential life skills in the water, this is a fantastic chance to make a real impact in a supportive and community‑focused environment.
This is a casual role with flexible hours, ideal for individuals seeking rewarding work that fits around other commitments. As part of our friendly and committed swimming team, you will help deliver a high‑quality programme of lessons aligned with Swim England and contribute to the ongoing development of the Swim School.
Working with children, young people and adults, you will create an enjoyable and inclusive environment where every swimmer feels supported and motivated to progress.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver engaging and progressive swimming lessons in line with established teaching frameworks.
- Support swimmers of all ages and abilities, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly and professionally with swimmers, parents, and visitors.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and confidence, ensuring the pool remains a safe and welcoming space for all users.
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress records, ensuring timely and clear communication with families.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support lesson setup, health and safety procedures, and smooth facility operation.
- Uphold safeguarding practices and contribute to a secure environment where children and young people can thrive.
About you
- A Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (Swim England or STA equivalent).
- A strong understanding of health and safety in a pool environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and support swimmers.
- A positive, organised and learner‑centred approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Flexibility to work some evening and weekend shifts
It would also be great if you have:
- A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or willingness to train in future.
- Experience working in a school, leisure, or community sport setting.
- A Pool Plant Operator qualification.
