About the Role

As an Adult ADHD Assessor & Reviewer (Prescribing Route) you will:

Conduct structured ADHD diagnostic assessments (history, impairment, co-morbidity, risk).

Deliver compassionate feedback conversations with patients and families.

Initiate, titrate and review ADHD medication within local formulary and national guidance.

Arrange and interpret baselines and physical health monitoring.

Complete safe shared-care handovers to GPs once stable.

Produce same-day high-quality letters using standardised templates.

Present complex cases at weekly MDT and contribute to audit, improvement and clinical learning.

Provide informal coaching, case discussion and professional support to peers.

Job responsibilities

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver structured diagnostic assessments (history, impairment, co-morbidity, risk) and provide clear feedback and written plans.
  • Conduct structured follow-up reviews to monitor treatment response, adjust care plans and ensure safe, effective long-term management.
  • Initiate and adjust medication within local formulary; arrange/interpret baselines and physical health monitoring.
  • Run brief titration contacts until stable; complete safe shared-care transfers to primary care (EPS and templates).
  • Document contemporaneously; produce high-quality letters on the day; maintain accurate, auditable records.
  • Present complex cases at the weekly MDT; contribute to audit, incident learning and quality improvement.
  • Support induction, case discussion and day-to-day coaching for colleagues; uphold safeguarding, consent/capacity and information governance at all times.

Person Specification

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications and registration (one of):
  • NMC-registered Nurse with V300 Independent Prescriber annotation and adult ADHD experience
  • GPhC-registered Clinical Pharmacist with Independent Prescriber annotation and adult ADHD experience
  • GMC-registered GP with adult ADHD experience
  • Mental Health Nurse (V300 IP), Clinical Pharmacist IP, or equivalent
  • UKAAN-trained (both elements and certificate) essential
  • Strong communicator, organised, and committed to equity and inclusion
  • Working knowledge of NICE ADHD guidance, local formulary, risk and safeguarding
  • Strong written communication and clinic time management.
  • Person centred, fair, improvement minded, committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
