About the Role

We’re seeking a creative, enthusiastic Teacher/Instructor of IT/Computing to inspire pupils aged 11–19. You’ll focus on IT/Computing and possibly teach in additional curriculum areas such as Maths and independent living skills. This is a chance to bring IT to life, using project‑based and practical approaches to engage pupils with Autism/SEMH/SEND needs. Over time, you may help develop BTEC or other accreditation pathways, reflecting pupils’ interests and career ambitions, including coding, eSports and iMedia.

You’ll work closely with our Quality of Education team to create accessible, engaging lessons, maintain a calm, purposeful classroom, and follow trauma‑informed, relational approaches to support all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to raising standards of pupil progress and attainment in ICT.
  • Monitor and support the teaching and learning throughout ICT.
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher, ensure ICT is implemented, monitored and reviewed to analyse its effectiveness.
  • Understand school pathways and ensure suitable learning is taking place in all environments.
  • Ensure pupils are working towards appropriate vocational qualifications at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Liaise with the Deputy Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership team to communicate subject effectiveness and its impact on the school.
  • Support the development of appropriate sequences of learning that relate to the needs of learners in each pathway.
  • Model professional standards at all times in line with Professional Standards for Teachers.

About You

  • Experienced in Computing, IT and related subjects.
  • Confident using digital tools and flexible in developing new skills.
  • Skilled in planning and adapting lessons for a range of abilities.
  • Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
  • Collaborative, creative and committed to inclusive education.
  • Keen to get involved in enrichment activities and digital projects.

For the right candidate we will consider those without QTS and recruit them as an Instructor rather than a Teacher.

Benefits

  • Life Assurance
  • Pension scheme with options to increase contributions
  • Wellbeing and mental health support, physical health checks
  • Flexible Benefits Platform including health, wellbeing, insurance benefits, discounts, Cycle to Work Scheme, Electric Car Purchase Scheme, Critical illness cover, Family Growth Support, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, paid fertility treatment support
