Overview
A well-established and growing catering business based in West Bromwich is currently seeking an experienced South Indian Curry Chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef with a passion for authentic South Indian cuisine to work in a fast‑paced and professional catering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic South Indian dishes, including curries, dosas, idlis, sambar, chutneys, and other regional specialties
- Ensure consistency in flavour, quality, and presentation of all dishes
- Assist in menu planning and development of new South Indian recipes
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
- Monitor stock levels and manage ingredients effectively
- Work efficiently during busy catering operations and events
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Curry Chef
- Strong knowledge of South Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques
- Ability to prepare dishes from regions such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, or Karnataka
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a catering or high‑volume kitchen
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
